We at Wananalua Congregational Church and the Hawai’i Conference of the United Church of Christ value and welcome a diverse congregation. The Church of the “Second Prophecy” was established in 1838.
The first church building was located near Hana Bay and was made of pili grass, as were all the houses of that day. The building in which we worship today was begun in 1842, built of volcanic rock with a cement of pulverized coral.
The church building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
